Let’s get real for a minute. I am crazy for pumpkin. Pumpkin decor, fake pumpkins, pumpkin coffee, pumpkin desserts. Lots of pumpkin desserts. So of course I have a pumpkin pie protein shake on the agenda to share with you this season.
This is a recipe I’ve been concocting for a bit. I love making protein shakes because not only can I curb my sweet tooth, but the high amount of protein in them keeps me full. So I can make this protein shake as a snack, or even as breakfast.
My secret is the vanilla whey protein powder I use. It has 21 grams of protein per serving, but only 1 gram of sugar per serving. It’s hard for me to keep my sugar intake low when I LOVE sweets, so adding this protein powder to shakes and smoothies gives them a sweet flavor without adding a ton of sugar. I even use it to make protein bars and granola bars.
- ½ banana (frozen)
- ½ cup pureed pumpkin
- ½ cup unsweetend almond milk
- 1 tsp honey or agave
- ½ cup plain Greek yogurt
- 1 leveled scoop vanilla protein powder
- ½ tsp pumpkin pie spice
- Add all ingredients to blender and pulse until smooth.
